The Ballymacad Hunt club is a very busy club to be a member. While hunting is our main objective in order to keep this at a reasonable cost it is necessary to run a number of fund raising events. These events are organised by the committee and run by hard working members of the hunt who do so out of love for the hunt. It is expected that all hunt members will help run and participate in as many of these events as possible.
Point to point: Usually ran on or around St.Patrick's Day and for more than the last thirty years, by kind permission of the Cosgrove Family at Newcastle, Oldcastle. This is a fantastic day out for all the family and has contended with all other types of weather to provide many great day's racing.

Hunter Trials: The Ballymacad Hunter Trials have taken place at Ballinlough Kells for the last number of years by kind permission of the Brady Family. The course was constructed by the Hunt approx. seven years ago under the supervision and design of Tony Mc Menihan. This is a challenging course for the open competition but is also adjustable to suit beginners, providing a challenging for all levels.

The Hunt Ball: A gala night out for everybody. Ran over the Christmas Holiday period, this glamourous event is ran in the Headfort Arms Hotel in Kells under the watchful eye of the Duff Family. Always a great success and a night not to be missed.

Greyhound Night: This is a good fun night out for all the family. Ran at the stadium in Mullingar, great crack and an opportunity for hunt members to make a few bob. This event is held every alternate year opposite our Auction of promise.

Auction Of Promises: Bargain "Hunters" (pardon the pun) Paradise over a hundred lots of interest to all at great prices. Everything from hunting holidays to head collars, fine wines to fine fashions and all proceeds go to the hunt.

Horse Raffle: This event is proving a great source of income to the hunt, with all proceeds helping to pay for our new field. Last year we raffled a fantastic hunter, which was won by Mr George Barrett of Ballymore Eustace. This year our joint Master Mr Jim Stevenson has secured for us a very valuable Sport Horse, with our joint master Tosh Kellett leading our ticket selling campaign, we are sure we will top even last years success.
